Two Rivers Winters Mist Merlot

tasting notes

This wine is medium ruby red in colour showing aromas of cassis, blackberry and mint with rounded earthy Merlot overtones. The palate is richly balanced showing ripe dark berry fruits with well integrated savoury oak and soft tannins giving this wine a lovely smooth finish.

winemaking

This wine was crushed and left to ferment on skins for 7 days at 18 - 25?C to extract the optimum colour, flavour and tannins. The fermented wine was then placed in selected new and one year old French and American oak barrels for 17 months before final blending and bottling. Bottled: 30th September 2009

This wine is from the spectacular 'Inglewood' Vineyard located in the upper reaches of the Hunter Valley. The name 'Two Rivers' was drawn from the Vineyards unique position nestled on the banks of the Hunter River near its confluence with the Goulburn.
