Two Rivers Wines

Two Rivers Lightning Strike Chardonnay

Chardonnay has long been referred to as the 'darling' of the wine industry. The range and intensities of flavour that this grape has to offer makes it such a wonderful variety to grow.

Our Lightning Strike Chardonnay is aptly named after a violet electrical storm left a complete row of vines scorched from an isolated lightning strike. Fortunately due to the toughness of these vines they all restruck to produce wines of intense flavour.

The wonderful full flavoured wines from Two Rivers compliment our fine food menu here at Banjo's. It is reassuring to be able to recommend quality wines to our discerning clientele.

tasting notes

This wine is pale green straw in colour with complex aromas of melons, citrus and tropical fruits, integrated well with vanillin oak overtones. The palate is medium bodied with ripe sweet fruit flavours balanced well by lively acid and subtle oak handling.

This wine had limited skin contact and 24 hours to settle off lees before being fermented in stainless steel tanks and one year old French Oak barrels. Fermentation took 21 days and the wine was kept at a temperature between 12 and 14 degrees. This wine was bottled early to retain primary fruit characters.
